Yahoo Photos Shutting Down
Yahoo Photos to shutdown soon in favor of Flickr, the social photo sharing website TechCrunch reported. Yahoo acquired Flickr in March 2005, flickr has become popular with its photo sharing features with other members of the site. Flickr is planning to add video sharing capabilities in the near future, Butterfield Co Founder of Flickr confirmed.
Yahoo Photos shutdown process continue a few months and in this time users have given a choice to upload their photos to flickr in one click or they can move these photos to other photo sharing sites like Photobucket, Snapfish od Shutterfly.

Yahoo Photos reportedly has large number of Photos than any other photos sharing site with 2 billion photos, flickr has 500 million. But the popularity of Flickr might have made Yahoo to take this decision. There is no piont in continuing Yahoo Photos and Flickr under the company as both of the sites provide the same services for the users.
….There has long been an issue at Yahoo where newer services have competed with older services, and Yahoo has finally taken some strong action to getting their house in order with a consistent set of product offerings. Garlinghouse has been one of the stronger proponents of this strategy.
…Flickr is also growing much faster than Yahoo photos and coincidentally has just exceeded Yahoo! Photos in traffic, according to Comscore.
