Google Image Labeler


Google Image Labeler is a new feature of Google Image Search for improving Image search in Google. It relies on users to label the images randomly to improve the quality of their image search.

Any one can contribute to this feature, all you have to do is label the images shown by Google with relevant phrases.

How it works:

When you start using this feature you will be paired with an online user and then Google will show you same images to both of you over a two minute period. You and your paired user have to provide as many labels as possible to the set of images you see. When your and your partners labels match you will earn points. After you finish labeling it will show you the images you labeled with site url and your partner’s labels.


You don’t have to login to Google to use this feature, but its useful to collect your points. After logging also you can stay anonymous with nick name.

How does it help your site:

You can enable your site for labeling of your sites images, this will help your site images to show up in Google image search. That way you may attract new visitors to your site and increase your page views.

To enable your site for labeling of your images login to Google Webmaster Tools and select your site. On the left sidebar your will find enhanced image search, click on that select check box to enable your site for Enhanced Image Search.
