Microsoft is reportedly working on a kitchen platform after coffee table (Surface Computing) to extend its Windows platform to home.
The features Microsoft is planing in its forthcoming kitchen computing are a family calender, recipe center, entertainment and a shared bulletin board according to ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley. It seems wired to me but you never know whats in the store.

Microsoft increasingly is looking for ways to tailor computing experiences beyond the plain-vanilla desktop. The Kitchen Client is expected to encompass both customized user interface and middleware that will allow developers to further customize the environment with their own products and services, sources said.

Sounds funny. lol.
@Nirmal
yaah it sounds weird
I think there are plenty of good uses for computers in the kitchen, but figuring out an interface that will work won’t be easy. Something that’s kid-friendly and easy to clean is going to be key.
Sounds weird, but still interesting
