Youtube coming to iPhone

iPhone YoutubeApple today announced that iPhone users will be able to stream Youtube videos on their phones. A new application designed by Apple will wirelessly stream Youtube videos to iPhone over Wi-Fi or EDGE networks.

Youtube announced that they will be encoding their videos in H.264 format for high quality streaming, which will make iPhone the first mobile device to use the H.264 encoded videos. Initially Youtube will encode 10000 videos in H.264 format for the iPhone release date and they will encode more videos each week until their full catalog is available on this format. Apple iPhone will debut on June 29th.

    This will only expand upon YouTube’s huge presence on the web. Apple and Google are getting a little to close aren’t they?

    It looks that they are getting closer, they want to dominate microsoft in all the possible ways.
