Published on June 25th, 2007 Filed Under Advertising
Blinkx, video seach engine launched a contextual advertising platform for video content. With the new platform video content publishers can include video advertising with options that include pre, post and mid-roll placement, as well as dynamically selected banners, in-video mini banners and a unique, post-roll catalog view.
The AdHoc platform uses the speech recognition technology to understand the video content and delivers matched ads based on the content.
Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO, blinkx. says, “The AdHoc platform is revolutionary because it was built from the ground up to address rich media, resulting in higher monetization for media companies, more effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for users.
The company is hoping that this AdHoc will revolutionize the video advertising like Google Adsense did for text advertising. Given the scope of the growing video market place and demand for on-demand video, it can make an impact on the video advertising.
