Image Version of Google News

google news image version

Google News launched a new image version, to see it in action go to Google News, currently it appears to me that it is only available in US.

The new version adds a text link “Image Version” on the home page when you click this link you will see News Images as square thumbs. Mouse hover any news image its related story will be pulled to top on the right side of the screen.

Its a nice feature but some of the images are not completely related to the story.

It’s a pretty good idea, visual media is always substantially more compelling the plain text.

Image version looks pretty good, but i would prefer standard version. In image version you can not guess what news is associated with the image unless you hover it to each and every image, in standard version with a glance you can decide what you are going to read and what not, otherwise its a nice feature.

Looks pretty good. But the images should be related, otherwise its of no use. :-)

It’s a bit cluttered but if there are relevant images then it is worth
