gleamd: Social People Marking

Published at July 14, 2007   Filed Under Web 2.0

gleamd is the new social network in people marking.

What is gleamd ?:

“Users write a short biography or find publicly available information on a person they find to be interesting and submit it to gleamd by clicking “add person” on the menu bar. If others also find that person to be interesting, they can vote on it. First they’ll make it to the recently popular que, then the top 3 if they’re really cool!”

gleamdgleamd is like spock, but the concept is slightly different. Spock indexes people information from other social networks, wikipedia etc. Whereas gleamd depends on its users, users can submit interesting peoples profiles or vote on existing ones.

Current all time popular people list includes Kevin Rose at the first place and followed by Merlin Mann.

This is an interesting concept and has the potential to grow big if their user base embraces it.

I have 5 invites for gleamd, drop a comment if you would like to test it.
