Vlingo: Voice-To-Text Mobile Web Browsing

vlingo mobileBored of typing in mobile keyboards, a new company Vlingo is offering the ability to talk to your phone instead of typing.

Vlingo speech recognition technology will allow you to speak to your phone what you want. For example you want to search something in your mobile browser, instead of typing your search queries you speak to the phone, Vlingo fills this information in the text fields. The idea is intersting but how far it works we have to wait and see.

Venturebeat reports that “The downside to this approach in the short term is that regional accents or foreign words may not get understood the first time, says chief executive Dave Grannan. Because the technology detects details of vocabulary and speech patterns, internationalization to other accents and languages is a complex task, and a ways down the road, Grannan says.”
