Remember the Seam Carving technology developed recently for editing the images without losing the aspect ratio of the images. Just two days back i wrote about rsizr image tool based on the same technology, now this is available as a plugin for GIMP.
Liquid Rescale is a plugin for GIMP which adds the seam carving image editing functionality to GIMP. You need to have GIMP 2.2.13 or newer version to work this plugin for you.
