Cool Software: Digg Clone From Intel

Published on October 8, 2007   By Ram  2 Comments

Intel launched a digg clone called Cool Software that lets users rank the cool software applications.

The site is mainly focussed on software business ideas and help to keep track of the the next big idea.

According to Venturebeat the site cost around $40,000 to launch and tested internally before launching it to public.

If you look at the site it appears to me it is based on Pligg, the open source digg clone software (see the below images). There are hundreds of digg sites like this but when a bigger company makes something it becomes news. What do you think?

  1. You are right. I checked it out myself, and looks like a pligg based Digg clone, but with a Intel Theme.

Companies like Intel shouldn’t launch services which doesn’t provide any value to the user.

  2. http://www.diggtr.com is the place to share your favorites and to communicate with others that share your interests. You are the editor and if your story is popular it will be published on the front page.
