IE7Pro: Must Have Add-On for Internet Explorer

One of the reason people love Firefox is its extensibility using Add-Ons, thanks to the community. Although Internet Explorer is the most popular browser it lacks extensions to customize it the way user wants. There are a few extensions for IE and IE7Pro is one of the best free Add-On available for Internet Explorer 7.

IE7Pro has lot of cool features like improved tabbed browsing, Ad blocker, Inline search, spell check, User script (like grease monkey for Firefox).

How it works

After installation you will see a small icon of the add-on in the status bar of Internet explorer, double click this icon to open the settings of the IE7Pro. Here you can set all the preferences. It has a lot f options, you can just set Base settings first which covers, tabbed browsing, Super drag and drop and image saving settings. You can access all the modules installed with IE7Pro by clicking modules in IE7pro preferences. Enable or disable modules from there.

Using Mouse Gestures module you can set shortcuts to perform different actions using keys.

Ad Blocker is a module for blocking for Ads, you can find the big list of blocked sites in default filters. You can set your own filters to control what you see and what not. You can also block Flash if it bothers you.

User scripts is a module like the grease monkey script for Firefox that includes really useful scripts, some of these include Youtube Video Downloader, Flickr Rich Edit, Gmail CSS Skin, Google Images NoFrame Link, Youtube resizer, and youtube dark grey design.

Download YouTube Videos: Activate the user script Youtube downloader from the preferences and then load any youtube video. You will see a small download link just above the “About This Video” section, click it to download the youtube videos to your desktop.

Youtube resizer is another cool script, when enabled this will make the youtube videos are resized to the page size. This is really useful because Youtube videos quality is poor and viewing full screen make them look worse. This resize view is something in between full screen and normal view and looks better.

Overall it is a great and must have add-on for Internet Explorer users, the best part is that it includes so many features in one single Add-On.

does the downloader work for other sites other than youtube?

There is one more script to download videos from other sites in IE7Pro, just enable it

Honestly, users who are technical enough to install IEPro (or any other extension) should install Firefox right away - much better and has more extensions. Even IE functions are emulated by FF extensions.

Truely a great add-on for all IE lovers.

Its easy to say that way, just the way you like FF, there are many other who like IE. Remember it has still more than 75% share in browsers.

Nirmal i right, there are so many IE users (they don’t find a reason to go for FF, it i just choice) and it is quite useful add-on for them.
