You may be wondering why they are giving it free, after creating your tube you want to run ads any way, startyourtube takes a cut from the ad revenues. Startyoutube keeps 40% of the ad revenue and you will get 60% that is not bad when you consider the bandwidth and server maintenance costs.

There is no installation or maintenance at your side, just select a subdomain name and start your tube. You can customize it a bit like changing the logo, colors, headers etc. It is a 100% web based solution. Optionally you can use your own domain name.

You will also get some other features with your tube like you can create blogs for your and for your users, comments and discussions etc. You could posts photos, audio tracks and of course videos. 1. I wish we could use our own domain name. Overall the service looks great! :)
  2. Do they check whether we are running ads all the time? What is the mechanism? Looks like a good service.

Not sure how they check whether you are running ads or not. Ad code is provided by them, i see mostly Google ads at the moment.
  4. i have read the entire story on techcrunch and also signup for this service but. this service gives you a lot of ads. but for creating a video portal this site is good if u r the paid subscriber of this service other wise you feel a lot of pain there
