Full length movies coming to YouTube

Full length movies are coming to Youtube in the next few months according to CNet, at lease one biggest Hollywood movie studio films will be offered initially. These movies will be ad-supported according to the report.

According to Cnet, Google declined to comment on specifics but issued a statement: “We are in negotiations with a variety of entertainment companies. Our goal is to offer maximum choice for our users, partners, and advertisers.”

Youtube’s current video quality is not suitable for long featured films, the quality of competing services like Hulu is very good. Hopefully they will improve the video quality when they offer full movies. Youtube has to compete with Hulu if it offers long films but youtube already has a massive userbase compared to Hulu.

I recently starting using http://ovpulse.com which is a super aggregator, I can get a quick scan of popular movies, tv shows, cartoons and news and they update the site ON the hour every hour so for me it’s a time saver if you kow what I mean? don’t have to visit 28 different sites to get my fix :)

  2. It’s about time. I’m surprised they’ve lasted this long without implementing movies.
