You need to register for skimmer before you can setup all the services, for facebook and flickr you need to authenticate via their API and other enter username and password. Once you setup the services you can see the stream of updates. You can filter updates based on the service, or based on keywords. Feed option on the left menu offers all the updates, while Flickr menu gives a cool slideshow of your photos with tags, views etc. You can also see photos from your contacts. Similar to Flickr menu, youtube buttons allows to see your videos, and your friends videos.

Skimmer may also have some social features, if any of your friends are using skimmer then it will show them you can add these people in other services to your friends list if you are not already connected.

Like tweetdeck it takes lot of screen space, although you can use it as a widget but that is not quite useful anyway.

Skimmer is well designed and works perfectly with all the services. If there is any problem with skimmer is its memory footprint. It is using around 120MB in just few minutes of usage and increasing. Skimmer is currently in beta. Download Skimmer

If you use Internet Explorer you may want to try TweetIE, the twitter add-on for IE that helps you post quotes from the

websites you visit to your twitter account. FireFox plug-in is also available.
