How To: Search for People on Twitter

Twitter is all about making conversations happen. Its now being surrounded by a plethora of applications, clients and web services mashing the data on Twitter.

There are sites to available to check out the latest and trending topics on Twitter.  And, know more about the topics including statistics and geographical information, like from which part of the world are most of the tweets being posted etc.,

On your Twitter page, apart from your ‘trendy’ username and bio, most importantly people eye your ‘followers count’. Twitter enables you to find new people on Twitter, other social networks and via ‘suggested users’. Here are some more easy ways to search for people on Twitter and follow.

Tweetpz

Tweetpz enables you to search for specific pieces of Twitter’s user information. For instance bio, location, name etc., You can filter results by followers count, location. It’s provides an enhanced layout to the search results with useful filtering options. The advanced search options allow you search for a specific name, location, adjacent words, a specific text in the bio etc.,

TweepSearch allows people on Twitter to search their followers bio and location information. Just enter a Twitter username (ex: @teknobites) or a keyword on TweepSearch to search for friends and followers.  It enables you to sort results by ‘last updated’, ‘screen name’, ‘followers’ and ‘friends’.

TwitDir

TwitDir is a directory which helps you find your friends and more on Twitter. You can search of Twitterers by typing a name, a screen name or a location. It also features the ‘top 100 updaters’, ‘top 100 followed’ Twitter accounts.

WeFollow

WeFollow lets you find Twitter celebrities, actors, TV personalities, or new Twitter friends in your area. It’s a directory of Twitter users organized by interests. It’s an easy and effective way to find like-minded people. WeFollow is community powered and even you can add yourself by tweeting @wefollow with three #hashtags that describe you.

    Are you an avid twit? Thank you for self identify likely being socially unsuitable.

    Have relationships with people. Do NOT involve technology (and the public at large) as a third party participant.
