Microsoft has removed the Start button orb in Windows 8, instead of this Microsoft has given us the start screen which has quick links to the apps, programs and other stuff. This became inconvenient to users who are used to the start menu button for years now on Windows.
While the Start button orb is removed the Start menu items can be accessed quickly by right clicking at the left hand bottom corner. Right click context menu has quick access links to the programs you need. This is “Quick link power user commands†and can also be accessed using Windows Key + X.
The context menu will give access to Essential items like Task Manager, Control Panel, Windows Explorer, Search, Desktop and Run. Apart from these you can also access system functions including Programs and features, Network Connections, Power Options, Event Viewer, System, Device Manager, Disk Management, Computer Management, Command Prompt, Command prompt with Admin privilege.
Only things missing here are all the programs shortcuts installed in the system, but those can be accessed using the search function.
