Google has offered 10GB of space for Gmail users and when it launched Google Drive it offered 5GB of storage on par with the rivals like Dropbox. But that storage is fragmented, if you are a heavy Google Drive user you might want more storage, and a heavy Gmail user might want more Gmail storage. Keeping this thing in mind Google has now unified the storage space across Drive, Gmail and Google+ photos. With the new update Google Drive will have an advantage over its rivals.
Now users will get 15GB of free storage that is shared between Gmail, Dive and Google+ photos, users can use this space as they wish.
With this new combined storage space, you won’t have to worry about how much you’re storing and where. For example, maybe you’re a heavy Gmail user but light on photos, or perhaps you were bumping up against your Drive storage limit but were only using 2 GB in Gmail. Now it doesn’t matter, because you can use your storage the way you want.
Along with the free storage changes Google has also made changes to the paid plans, the 25GB for $2.49/ month plan is now gone, instead the plans start from 100GB for $4.49/ month.
