The popular open source FTP client Filezilla version 3.0 released. This main feature of this version is now it runs on Windows Linux BSD, Mac OS X and other platforms.
According to the author the internals of FileZIlla have been streamlined and modernized and he has spent 3 and half years to completely rewrite the code to support cross platform feature.
Currently not all features implemented in the old 2.x versions are implemented in 3.0.0, but the author promises these missing features will be added to the future releases. The other important announcement is that Filezilla 2 and 3 can coexist on the same system in case you want the features of 2.x.
In version 3 you will see tabs for queued file, Failed transfers and Successful transfers which makes it easy to see your file transfer progress.
