LG G2 mini with 4.7-inch display and Android 4.4 KitKat launched

LG has launched its much anticipated G2 mini device, the device will be unveiled at the MWC 2014 in the next week. LG G2 mini is the compact version of the flagship device LG G2. Compact models of the flagship devices are becoming popular, Samsung and Sony all have launched these kind of devices. LG G2 mini will retain the UX features but will have downgraded hardware.

LG G2 mini features a 4.7-inch qHD display (960 x 540) with IPS screen. It is powered either by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Quad-cpre MSM8926/ MSM8226 or by a 1.7GHz Nvidia Quad Core Tegra 4 processor. It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat version out of the box, on top with LG’s Optimus UI.

“The G2 mini is all about bringing the best user experience of the G2 to a more compact, mid-tier device, giving millions of customers the opportunity to benefit from the LG premium experience,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “This device offers the perfect balance of modern design and practical UX in a compact package without compromising performance.”

LG G2 mini retains the UX features like Guest Mode, Plug & Pop, Clip Tray and Capture Plus and others from the G2. It will come in four color variations and LG will launch this smartphone as single SIM, Dual SIM, 3G and LTE models depending on the market.

Availability: The LG G2 mini rollout will start in March with the 3G dual SIM model in CIS countries followed by Middle East, Latin America and Asia including Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan and Europe.
