Read Authenticated feeds in Google Reader or Bloglines

FreemyfeedGoogle Reader and Bloglines are popular feed readers, many use these two for reading feeds including myself. While they are good they lack one important feature that is support for authenticated feeds. FreeMyFeed is a service that allows you to read authenticated feeds in any feed reader of your choice.

Authenticated feeds or feeds using invalid SSL certificates can be made accessible to Google Reader or Bloglines using freemyfeed. What freemyfeed does is it creates an alternate feed using authenticated feed URL, username and password of the feed, this alternate feed can be read on your favorite feed reader.

Freemyfeed claims that it doesn’t store your feed login credentials on their servers, they are just used to create an alternate feed and after that they are discarded.

This is a good way to read authenticated feeds using Google reader or bloglines. Be aware that while doing this you may be violating terms of feed publishers, and also be aware that you have to give your login credentials of the feed to use this service.
