Super Status Bar – A Better Status/Notifications Bar for Android

The openness of Android is its biggest advantage as users can easily customize almost everything on their Android smartphones. If you have root on top of that, then there are numerous things you can do in order to customize and mod your phone. Status or Notification bars on Android phones are usually pretty standard and they look similar on most Android devices with slight theming on top by the manufacturing company.  Even though the default status bar looks quite good, users still try to tweak around with the status bar in order to change backgrounds and move icons. Super Status Bar is a brilliant replacement for the default Android status and works on ALL Android powered smartphones on Ice Cream Sandwich/Jelly Bean.

Basically, this particular replacement doesn’t add a heavy status bar on top and instead, it provides you options for tweaking the status bar. With Super status bar, you can customize your status bar without losing out the default features of the Android status bar.

Firstly, you can move around all the icons in the status bar including the messaging, call, battery and 3rd party app icons. You can also change backgrounds of the status bar, which is probably the most important reason why people use super status bar. Most Android smartphones have black status bars on top which cannot be changed but with this alternative app, you can use different backgrounds and themes.

You can either keep your status bar minimal with few icons or you can add tons of different icons. Super Status Bar also supports custom themes, which are uploaded by the users of the app on the Google Play Store. With weekly updates, you can keep on trying new themes and features. Apart from that, you can also choose when you want  the status bar to be displayed. You can keep it on while on the lock screen and even if you are playing a game.

One of the newest features is that you can also customize the notifications area when you drag the status bar down. Shortcuts are also enabled by default in order to switch between WiFi, Bluetooth etc. You can download the app using this link.
