Google Ears – Jelly Bean Music Recognition for ALL Android Devices (4.0+)

With the latest update of Android Jelly Bean, Android users have seen several additional apps and features in the Android OS. The problem is that not all Android devices are updated to the latest OS and some are still stuck on Ice Cream Sandwich. Previous Jelly Bean apps have been ported to other Android devices including the new camera and keyboard. Now, you can get the latest music recognition service from Google on your Android device. After Shazam and Sony’s TrackID, music recognition on Android is getting quite popular and Google’s new feature, Google Ears, is the perfect way to find out about music.

Google Ears is, basically, an app which can recognize the songs that you hear. For example, if you are listening to a song on the radio and you don’t know what the song is, Google Ears can find it for you. Yes, lyrics can help you find out about the song but what if its an instrumental song or techno music? Google Ears is a widget and it uses the internet in order to find out the song which is playing. Once you hear a song playing, you need to tap on the Google Ears widget and it will identify the song and will display all details including artist, song, album, album art and even the option to buy the song using the Google Play Music Store.

This might not be a revolutionary app for Android, however, if you need a brilliant song recognition app along with a taste of Android Jelly Bean, then you should definitely try Google Ears. The previous version of the app needed root access, however, you can now install the app without root on any Android device running Android 4.0+. The apk file can be downloaded using this link. Once downloaded, you can install it like any other app. A new transparent modded widget is also available which can be downloaded using this link.
