HotSpot Shield – Access Blocked Sites on Android

Using a VPN is a necessity for certain users and CyberGhost and HotSpot Shield are among some of the most popular VPNs for computers. There aren’t many VPNs available for the Android OS and the ones that are available, are either paid apps or limited in terms of usage. With the popularity of HotSpot Shield on Windows, an Android app is also available for secure and anonymous web browsing. It is similar to the computer version and the free version is ad-supported.

HotSpot shield is a good utility for, both, casual and advanced Android users. You can use it to exchange confidential and secure information or can use it to unblock certain websites. It takes less than a minute to connect to the servers and once you are connected, you can browse anonymously and can visit any site on the internet. Unlike some proxy servers, your information will be safe as it supports secure web browsing.

HotSpot shield might cause a lag on certain low-end Android devices as some browsers already lag on computers due to the ads. Even though the ads are really annoying, HotSpot Shield is the perfect option for viewing blocked websites. Obviously, you won’t be able to use the free version for full browsing during the day because of the lag but a paid service is available for removing these popup ads. You can also try disabling flash to try to avoid popup ads.

HotSpot Shield doesn’t support Android 3.x firmwares not does it support Kindle Fire, however, it should work on most Android devices with firmware 2.x or 4.x. Currently, Hotspot shield offers paid monthly/annually VPN services without ads and unlimited free browsing with popup ads.

The app can be downloaded using this link. Make sure that you don’t have any other VPN services running on your device or else the apps will crash.
