A new Facebook phone from HTC?

If you remember, HTC had released two phones, HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa, which had inbuilt Facebook integration with a dedicated Facebook button. For long there were rumours of a Facebook phone to be launched by HTC and finally HTC launched not one but two of them. However these phones failed to do well in the market because of older specifications and odd looks. Also they were overpriced before the prices reduced drastically. However after nearly two years, there are rumours in the Facebook world regarding a new Facebook phone to be launched by HTC soon and could be called HTC Myst, as Unwiredview reports.

The previous HTC phones were aimed at consumers who require Facebook and social networking on the go. With the new phone, HTC and Facebook could do much more than simple integration and one button Facebook app. The rumoured specifications are:

  • 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8960 CPU with 1 GB RAM
  • 4.3-inch 720p display, 320 PPI
  • 5MP primary camera and 1.6MP front-facing camera
  • LTE capabilities, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi,

The phone should come with Android 4.1.2 Jellybean out of the box, however keeping in mind its release date in the future, it should make 4.2 readily available. Facebook could completely revolutionize the experience of using facebook on a phone, keeping in mind the OS and its capabilities. HTC could integrate Facebook with their latest Blinkfeed application and instagram shown on HTC One. There is no clarity on whether there will be use of Ultra Pixel camera on the phone however.
