Amazon building a smartphone with 3D display

We are hearing rumors about the Amazon for some time now, it might be called Kindle phone, the latest report from WSJ indicates that Kindle smartphone is not just a normal phone instead it will carry a 3D display. According to the report Amazon is developing two smartphones one with 3D capabilities and functions with out needing glasses to view the 3D content.

Amazon is using a retina-tracking technology that makes images on the smartphone to float above the screen and they will be visible three dimensionally from all the viewing angles. Amazon wants to stand out from the crowd and so developing a smartphone with 3D capability, while 3D phone stand out from competitors it wont appeal to most of the folks.

According to the report Amazon is not only developing smartphones, it is also developing prototypes for a range of hardware devices including a audio streaming device, set-top box. Some of these devices might see the light in the coming months and some might be shelved based on several factors like financial or other concerns.

One a similar note Micromax recently announced a Canvas 3D smartphone, it also allows users to access 3D content without needing glasses.
