WSJ: Google’s Smartwatch will launch in the coming months, integrated with Google Now

According to a report on WSJ Google’s smartwatch is in late staged of development and might be in the market sooner than we expected. According to its WSJ sources Google is talking to Asian suppliers to begin mass production of the device. The smartwatch could come with in months.

Google’s Smartwatch will run on Android operating system and will be integrated fully with the Google Now, the personal assistant which pulls contextual information based on users browsing, emails and location etc. Integrating with Google Now. WSJ’s source says “The smartwatch will be able to communicate with other devices such as a smartphone, and draw information such as travel schedules from a user’s email through Google Now, the person said.”

Google is hard at work to improve the battery performance on the phone, power consumption is the major concern of the smartwatches that are already released. Google is aiming to address power consumption and its usefulness in the real world with this smartwatch. Samsung recently released a smartwatch called Galaxy Gear which is bugged with battery life and it is incompatible with non Samsung devices.

Google has quietly acquired WIMM Labs last year and since then WIMM labs website has a default message. WIMM Labs made first Android watch WIMM One and later shut the shop, but the store is still active. This smartwatch effort may be related to the WIMM Labs acquisition of Google. If we have to believe the report we don’t have to wait longer for the Google’s smartwatch.
