Age of Empires Android and iOS versions are coming soon

Microsoft’s real time classic strategy game Age of Empires is coming to iOS and Android by 2014. Reuters reported earlier that Microsoft’s Xbox along with the classic Age of Empires will make an appearance on iOS and Android which turned out to be not true and later Microsoft confirmed that Age of Empires is the only title that is coming to these platforms. Japanese Game Studio is KLab is developing the game with a license from Microsoft according to reports.

Age of Empires is a classic strategy game that was first released in 1997 by Microsoft as publisher. Since then the Franchise has grown and released several spin offs and at least seven sequels so far. This is one of the popular games in the early 2000. The game play involves progressing through civilizations, as you progress you will get better weapons, resources, technology etc.

While many Xbox games can be found on the Windows phone platform, there are only handful of them on rival platforms Android and iOS. Age of Empires is coming first time to the mobile and that too to Android and iOS first, and Windows Phone users have to wait for some more time according to Microsoft. Other language versions of the game along with Windows Phone version will come later.

According to the present agreement KLab will develop the Android and iPhone versions of the game first. At this time other than Age of Empires no other Xbox game is licensed to KLab according to Microsoft.
