HTC Desire 700 Official with 5-inch qHD Display, Quad Core Processor, Dual SIM

HTC today announced the Desire 700 today at an event in Taiwan. It is a big screen phone with dual SIM support and decent hardware specifications. It features a 5-inch screen with qHD resolution (960 x 540). It is powered by a Quad –core Snapdragon 200 processor along with 1GB of RAM.

Design wise the Desire 700 looks similar to the HTC One, the aluminum chassis is replaced with plastic. The Desire 700 comes with a 8MP camera, this is normal one not UltraPixel camera seen in One. There is a 2MP front camera with BSI sensor. Internal storage is pegged at 8GB, there is a micro SD card slot for memory expansion though.

Usual connectivity options available, one SIM supports 3G and another 2G. It packs a 2100 mAh battery under the hood which may not be enough for a phone of this size. Desire 700 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system at a time when its rivals are launching with Android 4.3 on board. It will come with HTC Sense 5.0 on top of Android.

If you look at the specifications it looks like a budget phablet, but make no mistake it is not, It will retail in Taiwan at NTD 13900 which is $470 or Rs. 29180. Seriously for that kind of money you can buy a Nexus 5 in India or you can buy 2 upcoming Moto G phones. It will be available in Taiwan starting December, international availability of the device is not yet known.
