How it works: Users are always confused about these offers, because companies offer discounts on MRP of the phone which doesn’t reflect the current market price, so most of the time these offers are not worth the trouble.

Lumia 1020 launched at Rs. 49,999, under the current exchange offer users will get Rs. 13,500 and the effective price will be Rs. 36,499 after exchanging your old smartphone.

Now if you look at the current market price of Lumia 1020 on Flipkart is Rs. 46,999. That means if you exchange you will get Rs. 10,500 only for your smartphone. If you go to Amazon.in you can even buy the phone for for as low as Rs. 41,200.

List of eligible phones for this exchange offer:

Blackberry: Q10, Z10

Samsung: Galasxy S1/S2/S3/S4, Note I, Note II, Glaxay Grand, Quattro, Galaxy Core.

I wish it would work other way around.

After being with Nokia for a while (Lumia 920 and Now 1020 with Cam Grip) i’m ditching Windows Phone. Huge problem with apps! Microsoft is working on some OS updates but very very very slow. And I don’t have 5 years to wait, I need a working phone now. Skydrive which everything being synced with if almost full and they gave me only 7GB. Promised to update for free to 25GB and nothing. Tired of empty promises.
