LG G3 Specs leaked, include QHD display, Octa-core processor, Fingerprint scanner

LG has reportedly working on a successor to the LG G2 smartphone. According to reports from Korea, LG is already working on its next flagship and it includes good hardware to compete with flagships from competitors like Samsung and others. The LG G3 is expected to come in the second half of 2014.

ZDNet Korea reports citing some industry sources that the LG G3 will feature a QHD or Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels). 2013 is the year we have seen many phones with Full HD (1920 x 1080p), and 2014 looks like will see phones with QHD display, the list includes Oppo Find 7, Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G3 and others. The report also adds that LG G3 will run on octa-core processor developed by none other-than LG itself. It is also expected to carry a 16-megapixel rear camera, Android 4.4 KitKat among other things.

The Korea Herald reports citing anonymous industry sources that the next flagship from LG will come with fingerprint recognition technology. It source told the paper LG is currently testing the technology in G3, successor to the LG G2. The fingerprint sensor in G3 will probably be a swipe based sensor, different from the fingerprint scanning technology we have seen on iPhone 5. The report also claims that LG is also developing wearable devices including smartwatch G-Arch and G-Health, a health and fitness wrist band.

LG might showcase this device at the trade shows early next year like MWC, the early release might be due to the fact that LG G2 is not selling well. LG has taken a bold step in the design of LG G2, it introduced buttons in the back, the response to the LG G2 has been mixed, either you like it or you don’t. But the sales of the LG G2 are not as expected according to previous reports and that is one of the reason for the early development of the LG G3 smartphone. If LG can promise a good design with these specifications then it can compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5.
