Some of the Best and Really Cool Free Media Players

There are plethora of free media players available on the web sporting a wide range of features. While iTunes, Windows Media player, Winamp and alike are well-known, in this article, I’m compiling some of the interesting and free media players with a brief overview of their features. This list is going to be exciting, and we would love to see reactions from you about your favorite media player.

VLC media player is a portable multimedia player which supports most of the audio and video formats, without the need to download additional codecs. It can also be used as a streaming server and media converter. It is one of the popular media players and has holds some prolific features to intrigue the user.

GOM media player enables you to play any media files in an elegant interface. It has built-in codec and codec finder service. GOM media player has the ability to play broken/damaged AVI files. With its subtitle finder service, you can search and download subtitles directly from GOM’s subtitle database. GOM also provides you with advanced screen capture options.

With Songbird, you can search, sort, stream and sync media. It enables you to add Flickr images, YouTube videos, song lyrics, and blogs for every artist on your playlist. You can get recommendations on new artists based on the songs you like. As aTunes runs on Java programming language, it works on all the platforms. It enables users to effectively organize songs and rip audio CDs. aTunes has an equalizer, online radio support, shuffle and repeat options. One can view music categorized by album, artist and genre in a hierarchy tree, or by folders. You can also connect your portable media player and mount it as a file system to synchronize and play songs on aTunes.
