ReadAir: Google Reader On Your Desktop

If you use Google Reader as your feed reader and wanted a desktop version of it then you should try ReadAir. It is a new adobe AIR application that brings Google Reader to the desktop.

It is a early release so don’t expect to function fully. It doesn’t support keyboard shortcuts and themes yet, these features may come in the next version. One important thing is that it stores login info locally, i entered wrong password in the first attempt but it never said that was invalid or anything. it just opened but never gave me the option to change the login info or allowed me to add feeds, which is annoying.

Features: Features

  • Mac themed scrollbars and form elements
  • Full synchronization with Google Reader Account
  • Add/Remove/Manage tags
  • Subscribe/Unsubscribe from feeds
  • Search your feeds
  • User preferences
  • Resizable viewing pane
  • Auto software update
  • Auto login

It was not working for me properly and once you login, you cannot change the settings and also log out. I guess these would be rectified in coming versions.

Hey I just happened to write a post on ReadAir. The main reason which prompted me for it was even I got bored using Google Reader for a long time now. Needed a change. ReadAir is nice. Have you tried FeedDemon or RssBandit?
