Angry Birds Go will have in-app purchases as high as $100

Rovio has got huge success with the Angry Birds franchise and is minting money with all kinds of shit including physical toys. The next installment of the franchise is Angry Birds Go, a Kart Racer Game. The latest installment is expected on December 11th more generally. New Zealand iOS users got an early release of the game, one surprise from the game is that it had in-app purchases as high as $100.

In-app purchases are not new, now a days lot of apps are turning to this freemium model of distributing apps wherein you get the game for free, but you need to purchase some upgrades through in-app purchases to progress or get items that you need to progress fast in the game. This is not new for Angry Birds either, but what us surprising is that the game is full of in-app purchases and one car has a price tag of $100, that is too much for Angry Birds.

While the game is free to play most of the content is locked out and only opens when you start spending moolah on that. You can use your power-ups once or twice for free but after that you have buy gems with money so that you can get power-ups through the game. One special edition Bing Bang costs just $99.99. What do you guys think of this absurd pricing of cars and power-ups?.
