Chrome for iOS gets an update, better integration with Google apps, data compression

Chrome for iPhone and iPad got a major update that includes new features and improvements along with bug fixes. The latest version is better integrated with other Google apps according to Google. After signing in to Chrome users can sign in to other Google apps with a single click.

If you prefer to open certain links in apps, for example directions in Maps app, you can do that easily, you can set your choice in the preferences. This is available for YouTube, Google+ and Google Drive and will come to other Google apps in the near future.

Chrome is also implementing data compression in the browser, this feature is experimental and will be rolled out to users incrementally. It will help users save on bandwidth, also makes pages to load faster and browse moe securely according to Google. With the browsers like Opera Mini and Nokia Xpress already employ these kind of algorithms, data compression will save precious bandwidth on mobile data connections.

This update brings fullscreen browsing to iPad users and the ability to access browsing history from the menu. The update also brings enhancements to voice search, toolbar controls are always available when using voice search.
