Now You Can Embed Books from Google Book Search as Widgets

Google today announced set of free tools that allows anyone to embed books from Google Book Search on their blogs or web sites.

We are also providing new ways for these sites to display full-text search results from Book Search, and even integrate with social features such as ratings, reviews, and readers’ book collections. By providing tools that help sites connect readers with books in new and interesting ways, we hope publishers and authors will find even wider audiences for their works.

Google partnered with some booksellers to enable preview functionality, users who are shopping for books on these sites can use Google Book Previews to browse through the book. You can search with in the book, zoom in and out and browse 20% of the book.

You can embed books using the code below.
[sourcecode language=’jscript’]
[/sourcecode]

Replace the ‘bookidgoeshere’ in the third line with the book id from Google Book Search, book id can be found in the URL of the book search ex: http://books.google.com/books?id=z9xMfXGoWd0C&printsec=frontcover (bold text is the book id in this case).
