Google Nexus 4 gets $100 price cut, now starts at $199

Google has dropped the price of the flagship phone Nexus 4 down to $100, it is now selling at $199 for 8GB version. The move came before the launch of iPhone 5C. Nexus 4 8GB is now selling for $199 and 16GB version is selling for $249.

Google has released Nexus 4 last year and priced at $299 for 8GB version and $349 for 16GB version, the price remain unchanged till now. The new Nexus phone is not anytime soon and the Nexus lineup is waiting for the refresh. New Nexus phone from either LG or Motorola is expected later this year but it is not coming until November, so it is unlikely that this price cut is related to a new Nexus phone launch. If there is a launch expected soon we would have seen several leaks already regarding the device.

With the new price tag the Nexus 4 seems most affordable handset with decent specifications. If you are planning for a mid range Android handset this is your best bet right now. At the high end of the Android spectrum we have seen several devices but the mid range is not to so great in terms of devices, with the price cut the Nexus 4 fits perfectly.

The price cut is not available in all the markets immediately, it is confined to Eight countries at the moment including Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Korea, US and UK. Looks like more countries will get the price cuts as they just announced for France. It is not clear whether we will get the price cut in India as Google is not selling directly here.

We’ve lowered the price of #Nexus4. Get it for 25% off or more in Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea, US, UK: http://t.co/g8vIKtBC9N
