IdleBackup is a freeware for windows for backing up the data at regular intervals, as the name suggests it will backup the data when you are not using the computer.
IdleBackup can be configured to backup whatever files and folders to your desired destination, it can be hard drive, external drive, USB stick or network drive or archive it in ZIP format. The app allows you to set 5 profiles for backing up data, so next time you want to backup some files you can select the profile you want. It silently sits in the system tray and will backup only when the system is not in use, of course you can start direct backup also using the app.
You can set when you want to backup your data and what it means idle for the app to start backing up the data. The input activity check checks for no activity of keyboard, mouse etc and CPU activity will ensure to start the app at low CPU utilization time. The time in minutes will control how long it has to wait to start another backup session.
IdleBackup is a freeware for windows, and has a stand alone version of the app if you don’t want to install yet another app.
