Mercury mTab Rio 9.7 inch Android tablet launched in India at Rs 11,999

Mercury has launched a new Android tablet, the tablet mTab Rio is a 9.7 inch tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Mercury has launched Android tablets earlier in the Indian market, the most recent launch is the Mecury mTab Neo2. mTab Rio is priced at Rs. 11,999 for the Indian market.

mTab Rio is powered by a 1.2GHz processor, 1GB DDR3 RAN, 8GB internal storage and supports SD card for expanding the memory upto 32GB. mTab Rio comes with 9.7 inch screen, unlike previous models this tablet cones with IPS display to offer consistent & accurate color from all viewing angles.


Other specifications of Mercury mTab includes a 2.0 megapixel camera at rear and a front facing camera for video chatting. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G support via a USB dongle, HDMI output.

This tablet is priced at Rs. 11,999, and it joins long list of low cost Android tablets launched in India in recent times. Though we have seen so many launches from companies none of these tablets created buzz among consumers. The recently launched Google Nexus 7 will give tough competition with $199 price tag it carries when it launches in India.
