Micromax might have silently released a successor to the Canvas HD A116 smartphone, called Canvas 3 HD A116i. The smartphone appeared on eBay.in with varying price tags starting from Rs. 12,999 to upto Rs. 14,500. If you look at the specifications they are same as the previous Canvas HD smartphone, there is no difference, we don’t know what is the logic behind this release.
The Canvas HD A116i has the same specifications, it features a 5-inch 720 x 1280 resolution screen, and it is powered by the 1.2GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6589 coupled with PowerVR SGX544 GPU. It comes with 8MP camera at the rear and a 2MP camera at the front. It packs a 2000mAh battery under the hood.
It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system, the listings show a planned upgrade to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. Micromax might have already installed Android 4.3 if it is releasing this as a new handset.
What is different between Canvas HD A116 and Canvas HD A116i
Absolutely nothing except price at this point of time. Micromax has not officially unveiled the device, so we are not sure what Micromax is addressing by launching this device.
