Google has launched a Nexus Wireless Charger in US and Canada today. The Nexus wireless charger works with Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and this year’s Nexus 7. All these devices have in-built wireless charging option. Google is not selling the last year’s Nexus wireless charger that came with Nexus 4, which is a semi circle with angled face. The new Nexus accessory is flat to support the new Nexus 7 as the tablet is bigger.
The Nexus wireless charger also includes magnets this time for better grip when placing a device on it. The charger is Qi compatible (inductive power standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium), meaning it will charge anything that is Qi compatible. But the charger won’t stick to them as it needs phone with magnets inside (Nexus 5 and Nexus 7).
The Nexus Wireless Charger is currently on Google Play Stores of US and Canada selling with a price tag of $49.99. Google today launched Nexus 5, Nexus 7 in India and Hong Kong. But it is not clear whether this accessory will be available in India or not.
