Nokia India has closed the doors for the web version of its Music Store. The move came with in few weeks since Microsoft acquired Nokia, but it seems this is unrelated to the acquisition according to reports and Nokia PR. According to reports the Music Store is in maintenance mode since 2011 and the time has come for it to shut shop. Nokia Music will still be available on Nokia phones and can be accessed from eligible Nokia phones.

Nokia Music Store first debuted as Ovi Music store allows users to download music for free from Nokia phones that come with a limited period unlimited subscriptions. The unlimited subscription time period depends on the model of the phone, typically 6 months and after that users can renew their subscriptions.

According to the Nokia website which posted a notice, users will be able to listen to the downloaded music, download music if you have a subscription. But they will not be able to use the website, they won’t be able to download through Nokia music player or Aditi.
