Nokia Maps and Drive Updated with Offline Navigation for Lumia Phones

Nokia has updated its Windows phone apps Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps and Transport with new features for Lumia phones. Nokia Drive is navigational app, just released Drive 2.0 version brings most requested feature offline navigation support.

Nokia Drive users can download the country specific maps for offline usage from Nokia Drive, Settings –> Manage Maps. This is the most useful feature helpful to reduce the data bills or helpful in remote areas where the network coverage is poor. Along with offline support Nokia drive brings speed limit info to the app, it can warn you when you are speeding beyond a limit. The speed limit alerts can be customized with audio alerts and specific triggers.

The latest version of Nokia Maps allows you to add your favorite places to the maps. You can share these places with friends via email or social networks. Nokia Maps also added support for traffic conditions in several countries. When using public transportation you can tap on each waypoint to get more information immediately.

Nokia Transport announced at MWC, Barcelona is now available in 560 cities in 46 countries. Transport app provides information on how to get from one point to another in those cities. Walking directions are displayed in the app. Public transport timetable information is available for 86 cities now.
