Samsung GamePad launching in India next month for Rs 4999

Samsung has announced GamePad accessory for smartphone gamers last week. The GamePad accessory turns any smartphone or tablet to a portable gaming console. Samsung today revealed at the Galaxy Grand 2 launch event that the GamePad accessory will launch in India next month and will go on sale for with a price tag of Rs 4999.

Samsung GameOad works with any Android device running Android 4.1 and up and it is optimized particularly for Galaxy line of devices running Android 4.3 and up. The list of Galaxy devices compatible with this GamePad include Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, S3, Note 2.

The GamePad connects to users smartphone with Bluetooth pairing, with Galaxy devices via NFC and Bluetooth pairing. Samsung also launched a mobile console app along with the GamePad which can be used to control the game controller. Pressing the Play button on the GamePad will open the app.

The Smartphone GamePad instantly transforms the user’s Galaxy smartphone or tablet into a portable gaming console or even a home console. Through its premium, easy-to-carry design and durable steel frame, GamePad is attachable to mobile devices ranging from 4-inches to 6.3-inches, allowing users to play games wherever they are. Users can also connect Galaxy devices to their TV through an HDMI cable or AllShare Screen Mirroring for video game console experience from their living room.

The GamePad uses a metal frame for a premium look and easy to carry around. It is launched in select markets and it will be available in India from next month onwards. The Samsung GamePad price in India is set at Rs 4999.
