Few days back there is a listing that showed up in the GFXBenck results with a code name SM-G900S which might be related to the Galaxy S5 that is rumored to be released next year. Now a new device with similar code pops up as a shipment, SM-G900F was shipped to India for testing purposes according to SamMobile which tracked the shipment details here.
The SM-G900S benchmark results revealed that it has a 2K resolution at 5.25-inch screen size, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. Other leaks suggest that it comes with a 16MP camera. The Specs clearly point to a sort of flagship phone from Samsung, and it is expected to announce the Galaxy S5 in Q1 or Q2 of 2014.
The model number SM-G900F that popped is related to the G900S and it might be another variant of the same mobile. Samsung is known to announce several variants of the same device. Look at the Galaxy S4 launched this year Samsung has several variants of the phone and it is no surprise that Samsung will do the same with the Galaxy S5.
The “F” in the model number might be suggesting something else, earlier in September there are reports that Samsung might launch a new series with the Galaxy F series, this phone is supposed to be a premium one than the current flasgship Galaxy Sx series. Samsung wants another flagship than the current Galaxy S and Note series, where it can target the premium wanting crowd. ETNews reported at that time that these phones called F series might come with a metal case, 16MPO camera, an Octa Core processor.
Now back to the G900F, this might be another variant of the Galaxy S5 that is supposed to come with metal chassis. We have reported that Samsung might launch Galaxy S5 as two variants, one with metal chassis and one with plastic case like the current Galaxy S4. It might also be a complete new premium series smartphone. For now we don’t know what it is but with the flow of rumors coming from the past few weeks we will know what it might be in the next few weeks. The Galaxy S5 release date is still a speculation, either in February/ March or as per regular schedule in April/ May.
