The New iPad is official with 4G LTE, Retina Display and A5X Quad-Core Processor

The rumored iPad 3 or new iPad is official now, Apple today announced the new iPad 3. The new iPad comes with Retina display, A5X quad-core processor and has 4G LTE connectivity.

The new iPad price will also start at $499, like the previous model iPad2. iPad 3 comes with retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, that gives the pixel density of 264 PPI. It also features an quad-core processor A5X with improved graphics, according to Apple this processor is four times as fast as the NVIDIA Tegra 3.

The new iPad also comes with 4G LTE capability, the new chip supports both 3G HSDPA for up to 21mbps speed and 42Mbps HSPA+ for for faster network access. This also has hot spot functionality which is not there in iPad2.

iPad 3 will have the same camera that is build in to the iPhone 4S, features auto-focus, 5 megapixel backside illuminated sensor with 1080p video.

The new device will come with iOS 5.1, the latest version of the software that powers the Apple devices. It will be available for download from today onwards. iOS 5,1 comes with Siri support for Japanese language and the update will be rolled in the next few weeks.
