Google Chrome OS: Pilot program for testing chrome OS

Google offered some information on their long awaited Chrome OS, Google first announced in July 2009 and is expected to come in late 2010, but today Google breifed that consumers have to wait until 2011 to get the chrome OS powered notebooks.

The goodnews is that Chrome OS notebooks are available now under a pilot program. Google will give test notebooks running Chrome OS to ‘qualified’ users, developers, schools and businesses. The program is started in US for the moment and will expand to other countries soon. To participate in the pilot program, fill this form.

The pilot program netbooks are unbranded black devices from Google. These will come with 12.1 inch screens, integrated 3G and eight hours of battery life. Setting up the new machine takes less than a minute, Google claims.

Chrome notebooks will be available from the first half of 2011, initially from Acer and Samsung .
