We are seeing rumors about launch of Windows 8 tablets from several manufacturers ever since the latest operating system from Microsoft landed as a consumer preview. The latest rumor comes from The Verge that Lenovo is planning to release a tablet running Windows 8. Lenovo wants to be the first manufacturer to release a tablet with Windows 8.
Nokia is also working on a Windows 8 tablet and is rumored to release in Q4 2012 earlier. Nokia’s French Chief talking to LesEchos newspaper revealed that Nokia Windows 8 tablets might come on June 2012 itself.
Apart from Nokia other manufacturers like Dell, HP and Asus are also in the race to launch tablets running Windows 8. Dell is expected to launch a Windows tablet for enterprise customers on the day of the Windows 8 launch.
Not many details are available about the rumored Lenovo tablet but The Verge is suspecting that it may be Lenovo Ideapad Yoga showcased at CES. It is a 13.3 inch tablet with attached keyboard and with 360 degree hinge it can work as a tablet and laptop style book.
The rumored Lenovo tablet will use Intel chip, while Nokia is using ARM chip to power its tablet. Windows 8 will support ARM chips through a version of Windows 8 designed especially for ARM chips.
