Maluuba – Siri’s Alternative for Android

After basic voice recognition, having a personal voice assistant is the hottest feature on smartphones. Siri was revealed on the iPhone 4 and received a lot of popularity. Basically, a voice assistant makes things easier for users and you just need to speak in order to get things done on your phone. After iPhone’s Siri, Google came out with its own voice recognition app, Google Now. However, it is not fully similar to Siri and lacks several features. Samsung also came out with S-Voice on the Galaxy SIII but, both, the S-Voice and Google Now just don’t do enough compared to Siri. Maluuba is the latest Voice Assistant for the Android OS and is the perfect alternative to iPhone’s Siri. PCMAG and LifeHacker have already recommended Maluuba to Android users if they are looking for something similar to Siri.

With Maluuba, you can search for anything using voice recognition, find places and organize various things on your Android device. The best thing about the assistant is that it responds to casual speech as well and you can easily find restaurants by asking Maluuba for your desired meal.

You can also find out about the latest movies and music. The assistant will also get trailers for you if you want to find out about the latest shows and movies. Setting alarms and reminders is also easy and you can “tell” the assistant to wake you up on a specific time or to remind you about something during the day.

Maluuba also supports general knowledge based questions and you can ask the assistant about anything and you will get accurate results. Another good feature is that the app supports a widget and you can easily access the app directly from the homescreen.

Apart from the basic features, Maluuba can help you with numerous things using voice recognition including reservations at restaurants and getting directions. The app can be downloaded using this link.
