Twitter to acquire TweetDeck for $50 Million

Twitter has acquired TweetDeck, the popular multi-platform twitter client according to Techcrunch sources. Neither twitter nor tweetdeck announced the deal, but Techcrunch says it will be announced in the next couple of days.

The deal is interesting because Twitter acquired TweetDeck to stop UberMedia from acquiring TweetDeck. UberMedia has several application under its belt.
