YouTube Brings 19000+ Indian TV Shows Online

The popular video sharing network YouTube brings 19000+ Indian television shows at one place Youtube.com/shows/. YouTube has partnered with major Indian broadcasters including Sony Entertainment Television, Colors, Imagine TV, Star India and Vikatan TV to bring their shows online.

YouTube now offers local content to Indian viewers in six different languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, and Punjabi) and 300 different programs from various channels. YouTube has arranged all these shows in a central place at Youtube.com/shows. Users accessing this content from other countries should go to  youtube.com/shows/other-languages.

If you go to the shows page you can see that content is organized by categories like Comedy, Dram, reality Shows, Soaps etc. You can browse through the latest episodes of the shows and clicking on any show will open the page containing all episodes. Episodes are organized clearly, so if you have missed watching todays episode on TV you can watch it online anytime. This categorization of content will benefit users as they donâ€t have to search through the entire site to get to the episode they want to watch.

YouTube adds in its blog that this is just start and it will keep deliver more shows in the future. YouTube is streaming IPL matches from past 3 years in partnership with Indiatimes.com. Today they live telecasted the Union Budget Session.

Along with the latest shows some classics are also included like Mahabharata, Ramayan and Chanakya etc.
